Critical emergency plumbing response to contain an active gushing water leak beneath a kitchen sink, involving immediate main water isolation, emergency cabinet dismantling for access, pipe and fitting replacement, and full pressure testing.
Our emergency response team was called out to a critical plumbing emergency involving water actively gushing from beneath the kitchen sink. Due to the high volume of escaping mains water, immediate intervention was required to prevent severe structural damage to the property, kitchen flooring, and surrounding cabinetry.
Attended the property on an urgent emergency basis to address the major leak beneath the kitchen sink. Immediately located and shut off the main incoming water supply to halt the active gushing.
Due to severe configuration constraints behind the unit and the urgency to stop spreading water damage, necessary emergency access was achieved by carefully cutting and dismantling the kitchen cabinet framework.
Once clear access was secured, the ruptured pipe section and failed connection beneath the kitchen sink were extracted and fully replaced with brand-new, heavy-duty plumbing fittings.
Restored the water supply and performed thorough pressure and flow testing on the new installation. Confirmed the repair was 100% watertight, inspected and verified in the presence of the customer.
Due to the severity of the burst pipe prior to isolation and the restricted location of the plumbing, the following property conditions were documented on-site:
The kitchen cabinet structure required cutting and dismantling to gain immediate emergency access to the burst pipework concealed behind the unit.
High-pressure water leakage prior to and during the emergency intervention caused visible water saturation to the wall situated directly behind the kitchen sink unit.
The kitchen flooring sustained water exposure due to the volume of gushing water prior to the main water supply being isolated.
